U.S. Army Major (Retired) Russell Zayas and Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Hugh Oney are a couple of pipe-hitting Florida good 'ole boys.  They have launched a waterborne-experience company - Heavy Hookers Fishing and Diving - out of Port Saint Lucie, Key West, and Clearwater. 

As you might discern in the company's iconic logo, both men are retired special operators with a knack for aviation and a love for their country, first-responders, and military brethren.  

Russ is a former Ranger Regiment ground-pounder  turned "mustang" pilot qualified on three airframes: the CH-47 (Chinook), the Lakota (UH-72) AND the Russian "HIP" (Mi-17).  He has over 24 years of military service, including Iraq and Afghanistan deployments.  Hugh is former Crew Chief and senior leader with the Task Force 160th - the infamous Nightstalkers.  He served for nearly three decades in uniform and in addition to Iraq and Afghanistan, spent considerable time fighting the war on terror in the Middle East, Southwest Asia, the Philippines and Thailand. 

When I asked Russ why he and Hugh wanted to start a fishing charter company, his response was direct:  "I want people to live their best lives."   Clearly both men value their "alive days"  and both fishing and diving off the beautiful Florida coast is a gift neither man takes for granted
